The E-ELT will be built by the European Southern Observatory, which runs the European telescopes in Chile. Engineers and astronomers from the fifteen ESO countries are working together to decide which of the questions in astronomy are the most important, and design a telescope which can help to answer them. In the UK the main partners are the universities of Durham and Oxford, and the UK Astronomy Technology Centre in Edinburgh.

We will soon have some stories from people involved in this project.
